The response to our last newsletter has been outstanding. Since our release of the Free Architexa Client last month, 15 bloggers wrote about us, over 2000 developers signed up, and we were bombarded with feedback.
Nothing is more valuable to us than feedback from fellow developers! We greatly appreciate everyone who shared their opinion with us, be it on our forums, our blogs, or by email. We also would like to especially thank the bloggers that helped facilitate discussion by providing their own opinions about the Architexa plugin. See all their posts on our contest announcement.
Based on your feedback, there were a few areas of Architexa that we improved.
- Generics and Enum support have now been improved to show Generic Type Parameters in the class names and Enum Icons for Enum classes. We hope to continue improving this support; any additional ideas are welcome.
- Layered Architectural Diagrams have been improved to support for moving, re-positioning, and focusing on packages and classes.
- The diagram sharing and licensing site – my.architexa.com – has been improved and should generally be faster.
- Importing images into your diagram is now possible. You can select the option from the palette, and can now import any image from your hard drive. This includes any standard UML shapes/icons, existing diagrams, screenshots, etc.
- Installation instructions on download page have been clarified and improved the overall experience of installing Architexa. Please let us know if you have any trouble finding the correct instructions for your Eclipse configuration.
We also received a number of requests for IntelliJ and C++ support. We hear you and are working on a solution. These solutions take time, but the more votes we get for a capability, the higher we will prioritize it. If you have a favorite IDE for example and a team wanting to use Architexa, be sure to let us know!
